Video Poem 4: Writer

This is the fourth video blog. It is the second in a series of three. It has no sound. It was created with After Effects 6.0, iMovie HD, a digital camera, and my friend Rob.

The assignment is to create a series of video podcasts. They have to stand alone but link in some way.

My idea is to represent diferent kinds of artists. In this case a writer.

There was supposed to be sound, but at this point I cannot figure out how to implement my idea for it. Once I can figure it out, I will implement it and update.

Video Poem 2: 30 Second Con

This is the second video blog. It was created with a digital camera and After Effects 6.0. The sound was collected at FX Show 2006 with a minidisk recorder. It was edited with Amadeus II and Garage Band.

The purpose of this assignment was to describe a space with sound and image while considering the words tone and image.

My goal was to describe a comic book convention floor. I wanted to give the feeling of the overwhelming chaos that occurs on the floor, interspersed with remembered images. The sound reflects this by presenting the general babble with a few snatches of half identified sounds. The images reflect it through the chaotic overlap which little can be pulled from with flashes of concrete ideas, the most obvious and memorable being the sketches and the map, which are taken away from the convention.
